Against the warnings of Dre and his co-workers, Junior is resolute about his decision to move in with Olivia; Bow challenges Dre to get comfortable being alone. Junior and Olivia invite an excited Bow and Dre to dinner in their new apartment, but upon arrival they immediately become concerned with the young couple's living conditions; Diane bonds with Pops as she asks for his advice on dating. After having a conversation about deal breakers in relationships with Bow, Dre realizes that he gave up on some of his goals in life and begins tackling them; Junior worries Olivia might leave him after she mentions her deal breakers.
After one of Dre's secrets with Pops is spilled, he realizes that his relationships with each of his parents have changed since they got married; Bow surprises Jack and Diane with a brand-new car and tries to teach the twins how to drive. Dre feels pigeonholed to the urban marketing team at Stevens and Lido and realizes he needs to make some big career changes; Boyz II Men stop by the office to help out the team with a campaign; Junior has to deal with the twins.

When Dre takes over "mom" duties for a week, the praise he gets from everyone at the kids' school inspires him to try to outdo everyone.. Rainbow and Dre agree they will no longer spank their children, but when Jack disobeys, the kids wonder if their parents will go back on their word. Dre is disappointed when the older kids balk at a family tradition of seeing who can pull the most outlandish pranks.
When the kids disapprove of Dre's favorite cheap restaurant, he decides they all need to get jobs; the neighbors suspect the Johnsons have fallen on hard times.
When Dre's visiting mother butts heads with Bow, Dre searches for a way to get the women in his life to get along. How did you buy your ticket? Episodes 1. First off, the cast grows on you quickly. Initially, the family seemed a little oddball in how it was put together. But that went away within an episode or two, when the family dynamic was a bit more apparent. The children are adorable and I finally appreciate how beautiful Tracee Ross is I guess I was previously blinded by my profound crush on Persia White in Girlfriends. Ross portrayal of her character is refreshingly playful; I wouldnt have known she had it in her.
The writers should probably have a consulting doctor, though. It annoys me, how unrealistic the portrayal of her profession is. Anthony Andersons lead character is not perfect, but is on its way up. The character had started off a little unrefined but I am fully confident the writers will make full use of Andersons talent as the show progresses. But Laurence Fishburne as Pops has to be my favorite casting decision.
